How I can help you
Don’t get caught in the scrum at the airport. I can meet you and arrange transport to take you to your hotel or other accommodation.
Everything from hiring a cab in Addis, to booking a restaurant or a visit to a jazz club is easier and can save you money when I book it for you.
Whether you are staying in Addis or visiting some of the incredible sights in Ethiopia, let me help you have an amazing experience.
If you would like to join me in my paradise and feel confident that there is someone here to help you when you arrive, then read on.

Ethiopia
If you are planning a visit to Ethiopia, it is worth thinking about what you would like to see, where you would like to go and what will the weather be like at that time of year.
Like everywhere else on the planet, we are suffering from climate change and it is becoming harder to predict exactly what the weather will be like, but one thing to remember is that July and August is the rainy season in Addis and it can affect what you might see, especially if you leave the city and the rain has affected rural roads.
One advantage of the rain is that it makes the waterfalls even more amazing and you should visit at least one of our spectacular waterfalls when you come to Ethiopia.
This July and August I plan to be visiting friends in Scotland, and although it rains a lot there, it is nothing compared to our rainy season here in Ethiopia.
I am looking forward to seeing many visitors this year, after August 2022, when I will be back in Addis and hopefully looking forward to meeting up with you.
Why have a Tour Guide
Language Barrier
Hidden Gems
Depending on what you want to see, there is something for everyone. Let me know what interests you and I will find something that delivers for you.
There are many pre-arranged tours you can book, or you can do your own thing, and that’s great. But sometimes it’s handy to have someone local you can call on. Someone who knows the local customs, someone who speaks the language. I can be just a phone call away and that’s reassuring!
Nightlife
Like in many large cities throughout the world, it is never wise to head into unknown areas, especially after dark, but with a local guide to keep you safe, you can enjoy everything from music to authentic local cuisine at a reasonable cost, and a safe journey home – no matter how late.
Getting Around
I can collect you from the airport in a taxi or a mini-bus depending on the size of the group and arrange transport at competitive rates to take you around the local area and out into the countryside.
The traffic in Addis and the roads in the countryside are not for the faint-hearted. Do not take the risk of hiring a vehicle and heading out of the city on your own, without a local guide. Buses can provide an experience you will not forget, but maybe not one you might want to remember.
Hotel Bookings
There are so many booking web sites where you can book your accommodation and I will leave that to you. For everything else, please contact me.
Payment
Pay me nothing in advance.
When you are here I charge $10 per hour for my services

“Fasil has been a very terrific guide and friend on our trip. Besides the churches, our hike into the mountains was stunning and a very big plus. Fasil was so kind to arrange this on a very last-minute basis, as me and my friends asked to do a morning hike whilst finishing dinner the evening before.“
“It was my first visit to Ethiopia and, thanks to Fasil, my husband and I both had an amazing time.”
